Dominic Savio Podcast

January 19th, 2006

This is another quick “3 Minutes With A Saint” podcast. It was written by Mr. Thomas Serafin and read by David Rosmarin of St. Michael Church. The fine music was provided by my relatives most of whom have gone on years ago to be with the Lord! I hope you enjoy the production.

Offer It Up!

January 18th, 2006

Ok, this podcast is just a brutally honest assessment of my week so far.

I’m thinking that things are tough because I’m heading off to the March For Life in Washington, DC. It seems to me that things are getting harder on the way there.

I know I’m just passing through some difficult situations dealing with work and local heretics, personal turf wars, and home ownership battles, but it still irks me! I may sound like I’m whining, I hope not!

My hope is to share with you the real struggles of a man, born Catholic, and trying to live according to the Church without beating someone (or something) to death! This is all due to stress, incompetence, and all around frailty caused by the leavings of original sin. How about that!?!

Does this sound like an intriguing podcast? Give a listen then email me and tell me what a whiny cuss I’m being! Just pray for me too. That is all I ask!

God is good! All the time! I will praise Him in the good times and in the bad times as well!

Your faithful podcasting host,

The Return of ROLLERCHAIRBALL

December 15th, 2005

If you enjoyed hearing about Rollerchairball in one of my earlier podcasts you should enjoy this podcast which is its second part. One very fun thing about Rollerchairball is that the games are real, but the world of RCB is just fictional. The real fun is that there is a soap opera of sorts going on all the time in the minds of those of us who invented and play the game. After any and every match there is a press conference. Most of the absurd humor from the world of RCB comes from those conferences the questions asked and answered therein. This podcast episode is an interview between Brandon Lock, one of the founding Fathers of Rollerchairball, and me. I’m technically a founding father too but my title is sort of suspended because I came to the game one day after it was started. This was because I thought, like so many others have, that it was a stupid game. Boy was I wrong! The only really Catholic element to RCB is that a player must attend 15 minutes of Eucharistic Adoration on the day he or she is to play a match. It is mandatory that they do this. We have had many thousands of hours of Eucharistic Adoration over the 7 years that Rollerchairball has been in existence. All done pretty much by teenagers and young adults. This podcast is just a fun romp in the fictional world of of RCB so do not take it as anything other than that. It should be fun, so enjoy!

Rending Rent

December 8th, 2005

This podcast is about the movie “Rent”. Some friends of mine went to see it and although they have loved and listened to the music for the past year, they were appalled that the movie (and the play by extention) was a glorification of the homosexual lifestyle. In this podcast I interviewed Patrick McDonald and Mackenzie Eckert and got the Catholic perspective of the movie’s agenda for you. This podcast in no way is intended to insult, degrade, persecute, or discriminate against anyone afflicted with the terrible disease of A.I.D.S. which is a common theme throughout the movie and play. However, keeping with the “love the sinner but hate the sin” mentality, it is meant to expose the movie and play in a way that will hopefully keep you from spending money to see them, and thus supporting the glorification of the active homosexual lifestyle which The Church says is disordered and sinful.

Warm & Fuzzy? Or Worn & Fuzzy!

December 7th, 2005

This podcast is just a thought or two about life, hope, and getting a little distracted. Welcome to my rambling thought process and its “perilous search for a home!” Just a little fun, hopefully with some useful insight. Enjoy!

St. Maria Goretti

November 21st, 2005

Hello Everyone,

This podcast is a first for us as we start to podcast stories about Saints. As some of you know I was a co-founder of The Dead Theologians Society and I have a very special love for the Saints. I have been fortunate enough to team up with Mr. Thomas Serafin (The Relic Man) to bring these little Saint Spots to you in an effort to help you educate your teens and your children on the lives of the Saints.

Thomas has been asked to make a presentation on Saints to a very important Bishop and his diocesan leaders. Thomas has asked me to weigh in on his presentation or perhaps partner with him in some way. Please keep the two of us in your prayers as we ask God to show us what He wants us to do. Hope you like this first attempt at what we hope will be a long and exciting series of Saint stories.
Peace In Christ Through Mary!

Relicman II

October 18th, 2005

Hello all!

This podcast is the second in a series on relics by Mr. Tom Serafin. Tom is the President of the International Crusade for Holy Relics. I’m posting Tom’s podcasts for him to help him get his feet wet in the podcasting world. I will try to get a new podcast of my own up here soon. I’ve been crazy busy with the Youth Ministry programs that I run. Please pray for me! Also, as an aside, you may have seen the national news coverage of the Bus accident in Chippewa Falls, WI. Please keep that community in your prayers as well. My family and I made Chippewa Falls our home for 2 years and we feel very close to the town in general. God bless you all for listening!

Don’t Bury Your Talents!

September 17th, 2005

What do you have that you can give to the world?

What if you do not have the most money? What if you are not talented enough? What if you’re not brilliant, or good looking, or any of the other excuses we all use to keep quietly to ourselves? This podcast talks about what you can do even if you’re not the most gifted person in the world. Sit back and enjoy it. Life is about doing what you can do, not fearing what you can’t do!

Totality

July 27th, 2005

This podcast deals with the idea of Totality. Really it goes deeper than most of my basic podcasts to show a bit of where my theology comes from. I try to give an example (which worked well for many years with my teens) of how to teach teens and young adults about the Teaching Authority of the Church, Papal Infallibility, and “Letting go …to let God” perfect you and make you holy. I hope you enjoy it!
