I look strange because I was explaining something difficult about our faith. I am a co-founder and past President of the Dead Theologians Society. That is why I’m wearing a black DTS hood in the picture.

WWW.StMichaelspod.com is basically a site for Catholic Youth Ministers. The site and its content are owned and produced by Michael A. Barone. Mr. Barone has been involved in Catholic Youth Ministry for more than 16 years. He is uniquely qualified to speak on Catholic Youth Ministry from a practical standpoint based on the following list of credentials:

He Co-founded, performed in, and toured with, “Oswald And The Herringbones” an MTV Basement Tape Award winning rock band. OATH still gets together occasionally with their many friends and fans for a gig or two!

He worked for 7.5 years as a TV Producer for Mother Angelica of the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).

(While he worked at EWTN he produced, the “Mother Angelica Live” show, “Pillars Of Faith; The Catechism Explained” with Bishop David E. Foley. He also co-created and produced “Life On The Rock” for its first season with Jeff Cavins. In addition to these three weekly live shows, he produced countless teaching series with many Catholic greats such as Dr. Scott Hahn, Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Fr. Harold Cohen, Fr. Ray Bourque, Johnette Benkovic, Ralph Martin, Ann Shields, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, Fr. Thomas Dubay, Fr. Andrew Apostli, Fr. Stan Fortuna, Fr. Matthew Habiger, Fr. Frank Pavone, Molly Kelly, Dana the Irish Singer, Fr. Dale Fusek, Nelly Gray, Alice Von Hildebrand, and Fr. Jacque Daily. He also worked on many shows with countless Bishops, Archbishops, Cardinals, Papal Nuncios, and even one Pope John Paul II)

Mr. Barone spent 6 years as a parish Director of Religious Education at St. Francis de Sales parish in Newark, Ohio. Where he ran the parish SSOR program and co-authored a Catholic Vacation Bible School based on the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. He was also the Assistant Life Teen Director for the parish as well.

He also Co-founded (and served 6 years as President of) the Dead Theologians Society (DTS), an international apostolate in the Catholic Church for teenagers and young adults. While under his leadership DTS grew from one chapter, to over 156 chapters located throughout the USA and the world.

He is a Co-founder of Rollerchairball and current Commissioner of the North Central United States Rollerchairball League. (Rollerchairball is a Catholic sports program which involves teenagers and young adults becoming familiar with Eucharistic Adoration.)

Mr. Barone has also been the Director of Youth Ministry for the Deanery of Chippewa Falls in the Diocese of La Crosse under (then) Bishop Raymond L. Burke (now, as “Cardinal Burke”, he has been appointed “Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura” in Rome by Pope Benedict XVI).

Mr. Barone is happily married and has four daughters and two sons!

In January of 2007 Mr. Barone became the Station Manager of WFOT 89.5 FM in Mansfield/Lexington, OH. WFOT is a listener supported Catholic radio station owned by the St. Gabriel Radio Network. In June of 2007 he was asked to also assume the role of Station Manager for WUCO 1270 AM Marysville which was St. Gabriel Radio’s flagship station. He became the Program Director for WVKO AM in 2009.
